Today, Scifleet Toyota gave the goahead to install Cisco Voice over IP at its new Taringa branch, as part of a trial for possible future telephony upgrades across the Group.
Using Cisco Unified Call Manager Express 4.0, Scifleet have deployed the latest in Cisco's "key system" solution utilising VoIP via a Cisco 2821 Integrated Services Router - which also handles their WAN connectivity. Combined with the versatility of Power over Ethernet (PoE) and Cisco managed Gigabit switches, adds/moves and changes are easy and cost-free. Scifleet also had the distinction of being the first Australian business to have a Cisco supported Wireless IP phone solution using the Cisco 7920 Wireless IP Phone, which uses standard data wireless networks to provide voice services!
By adopting an IP convergence strategy - both in the wired, and wireless spectrum, Scifleet get the advantages of reduced cabling costs, easier management, and maximum ROI on its multiple Cisco 3560G switches, and 1131 802.11a/g wireless access points.
